Toxic mining moratorium extended.

Toxic mining has no place near the Grand Canyon. The Obama administration responded to calls from Environment Arizona and our allies and issued a temporary ban on new mining on more than 1 million acres surrounding the Grand Canyon. We’re pushing hard to make the ban permanent.

Victory for the Grand Canyon.

After Environment Arizona helped deliver more than 300,000 public comments, Interior Secretary Salazar put a million miles around Grand Canyon National Park off-limits to new toxic mining claims for 20 years — the maximum allowed by law.
